Henty Community Development Committee

The Henty Community Development Committee (HCDC) is a reference committee operating under the Greater Hume Council. Its primary role is to support and assist residents of the Henty community across various areas of local development and wellbeing. The committee actively engages in community advocacy, project development, and public consultation, often contributing feedback on regional initiatives or major projects which affect our local community.

HCDC serves as a grassroots mechanism for fostering community resilience, promoting local interests, and enhancing the quality of life in Henty. It collaborates with Councillors, Council staff, local organisations, and residents to identify needs, propose solutions, and implement community-driven projects.

If you’re curious about their current initiatives or how to get involved, please contact us.

Greater Hume Council Reference Committee

Reference Committees provide a mechanism by which interested residents and experts can play an active role in the formulation of council policy, direction and practice. These committees are an important link in council’s communication strategy with the community and are supported via other community consultative methods.

Greater Hume Council has established Reference Committees to:
– Develop a shared vision for the social, economic and community development of Greater Hume
– Provide a forum for members of the community and ensure ongoing communication between Council and the community
– Assist council in its understanding of, and approach to, specific or localised issues, initiatives or community assets
– Provide feedback to the community regarding Council initiatives and other community and business development opportunities
